Someone on FB posted that the correct way to pronounce Colorado (the state) was with a long "ah" sound (rhymes with the second word in "potato, potato").

I said they were wrong.

Wife of a friend of mine laid in and told me *I* was wrong because "colorado" is a Spanish word, so it should be pronounced in proper Spanish.

By the time I thought of asking her for the "correct" pronunciation of Los Angeles, the Alamo, San Francisco, etc., she was mad, so I didn't.

Complication: She's Mexican American, from Texas. I did mention Texas as an example before I shut my mouth, and she said the "Tejas" pronunciation was because it's not a Spanish-derived word, but from indigenous people living in the region.

Sigh. Sometimes you just walk away.

Another interesting thing, the #mastodon web app for mstdn.ca ignores hotkeys on Falkon browser using #KDE Plasma, the #Elk webapp shows the menu next to a frame but no content, and the pinafore proxy app shows feeds and obeys hotkeys. Wasn't the orignal intent of the web to write once and read anywhere? 😅​

And before you ask, Falkon is the only browser that really works in KDE on a #Pi400
