The General Union is writing this petition to the Osaka District Court to confirm the status of 2 General Union members working at Osaka University as employees and to direct the University to convert their contracts to unlimited-term employment contracts. ゼネッルユニオンは、大阪大学に勤務する組合員2名の従業員としての地位の確認と、無期雇用契約への転換を大阪大学に命じるよう、大阪地方裁判所に要請を行なっています。 In 2021, two longtime Osaka University part-time lecturers were unjustly denied unlimited term employment contracts, with the university calling them "independent contractors." After fruitless negotiations, the members filed a lawsuit in August 2022 to confirm employee status, backed by the General Union. 2021年、大阪大学で長年非常勤講師を務めていた2人が、大学側から "個人事業主 "として無期雇用契約を不当に拒否されました。交渉は不調に終わり、組合員は2022年8月、ゼネラルユニオンの支援を得て、雇用関係の確認を求める訴訟を起こしました。 This case impacts part-time university lecturers nationwide facing precarious employment. It is well known, especially among expats here or people who don't just read the positive, LDP hand-wringing media, that this whole program has served for 30 years as a source of cheap labor for local companies.
It has been pointed out for 30 years, and virtually every year there is some scandal around it that ends up being debated at length about how it could have happened and that it must have been avoided. Rinse and repeat. Deep bows in TV.
