A Wonga Pigeon at home yesterday arvo, and then today, the first day on campus, a family of Pacific Black Ducks. They were all busy shovelling under the azolla (water fern), and were still at it this arvo when we left.

There have been Wonga Pigeons calling from halfway down my driveway for a couple of weeks, so today, I wandered down there with the camera and managed to photograph one of them (the other one, still calling, seemed to be up in a tree somewhere)
Of course this Wonga Pigeon was nowhere to be seen during the Great Aussie Backyard Bird Count, but the day after it closes, there it is parading around in the backyard.
There's a big fat Wonga Pigeon in the backyard.
