@jfparis @ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A1 follow-up: Yeah, #WinterBikeToWorkDay is just the little sibling to #Frostpendeln: @frostpendeln, https://frostpendeln.de/, a community-based all winter long cycling event. (And not just commuting despite "Pendeln" in German means "commuting".)

I'm now at 363km since January 1st and at 872km since Nov. 1st. Already having cycled 920km this year is impressive.

@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A8: Two more pictures from yesterday's #WinterBikeToWorkDay: A picture of when we arrived after teardown at Pro Velo's storage with the tent pavilion, beer bench sets, pole flags, flood lights and all the leftover merchandising stuff on two bicycle trailers and one cargo bike.

And the t-shirt I was wearing that day despite nobody saw it as it was too cold for running around just in a t-shirt.

I knew about Winter Bike To Work Day, and thought @CycleWR might have organised a group ride, maybe on Saturday. But I didn't receive that notification (the mastodon.sdf.org has been a bit sluggish lately, and I owe my mail server a bunch of technical debt).

But I wouldn't have gone on a winter ride anyway -- I'm too much of a Fair Weather Cyclist.

Like many other set bicycle events for me, this #WinterBikeToWorkDay fell on a day I was unable to bicycle. I bicycle a lot, it's my main transportation and enjoyment. But I usually can't finish a #coffeneuring event, do #30DaysOfBiking or even manage #BikeToSchoolDay or #BikeToWorkDay because they fall on days I have family obligations or motor vehicle travel time with the Spouse.
