In celebration of a successful upgrade to #Kubuntu 22.04, I fired up #WinVice to play some #C64 coffee break games.
First was Blockie, a Tetris Attack-style game with a great soundtrack if you like filter-style EDM. Careful, it likes to pull some fast ones during gameplay!
Next was Citadel, which has the "by Author-Name-Here" (Martin Walker) subtitle which used to promise something special in gameplay. They should do that more these days..hmmm...a fun little game with great texturing.
After that, ATA, a Tetris homage with reasonable difficulty but nothing hardcore.
And finally: Defenders of the Earth! Wow I have no idea here, what a fast-paced game with a COOL title screen and sountrack. The you-died theme is also pretty neat. Though, in lieu of death: "You ran out of energy so Dynax teleported you out of danger." Thanks Dynax! Love it.
Much #retrogaming fun was had today.
