Across the U.S., many communities want to support immigrants.

With programs like the Welcome Corps, countless Americans have stepped up to help those in need.

Who wants to join in on this vital work? #CommunitySupport #WelcomeCorps

Hey Mastodon. I am part of a small "welcome circle" team working with #RainbowRailroad and US #WelcomeCorps to help settle an #lgbtq #refugee in the DC area. We are next in line in the program to be assigned a refugee, and we expect them to arrive in a few weeks. We are now #fundraising to provide resources for our person as they find a new home and job. I invite you to help out or spread the word.

The financial requirement to participate in the Welcome Corps - #volunteers have to pay or raise a few thousand dollars - makes participation out of reach for many. Happily, there are alternatives to helping #refugees in the USA: http://coyotebroad.com/stuff/helprefugees.shtml
