A petition is urging retail giant Amazon to disable listings of shirts, hats, stickers and other products emblazoned with quotes referring to Canada as the 51st state or otherwise celebrating the idea of Canada being annexed by its southern neighbour.

“The decline is striking — bookings are down by over 70% in every month through to the end of September. This sharp drop suggests that travellers are holding off on making reservations, likely due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding the broader trade dispute.”
Well, that, an aversion to funding a country seeking to annex us, and a lack of interest in booking a vacation at EPCOT that has a non-zero risk of turning into a rendition to CECOT.

“In this crisis caused by the U.S. president and those who are enabling him, we lament a friendship lost. In Gander Canadians did extraordinary things for Americans when they needed it. Now, we need to do extraordinary things for ourselves.”
— prime minister Mark Carney
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has lamented Canada’s lost friendship with the United States as he visited the town that sheltered thousands of stranded American airline passengers after the 9/11 attacks. Carney's visit on the second day of the election campaign comes against the backdrop of a trade war and sovereignty threats from U.S. President Donald Trump. Gander, Newfoundland opened its arms to some 6,600 airline passengers diverted there when the U.S. government shut down airspace during 9/11. The town was overwhelmed by 38 planeloads of travelers, yet locals went to work in their kitchens and cleaned up spare rooms to offer space and food to the newcomers,
“ #TreasonBarbie isn’t just trying to hold a country hostage; she’s trying to help give Canada’s sovereignty away because she’s nothing more than a traitor who’s running for her political life, and it’s going to CRUSH mapleMAGA and Pierre Poilievre into a million pieces.
“Count on it.”

“So, what can you do?
“Stay off platforms like X. As for Facebook, ensure trolls do not swamp your feed. Don't take the bait. Block them.
“Most importantly, if you don't want to become MAGA North, get out and vote against the local Conservative candidate. They are following the Trump playbook.

“Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Friday U.S. President Donald Trump will ultimately respect Canada’s sovereignty and be ready for comprehensive trade talks because Americans are going to suffer from Trump’s trade war.
“Carney said talks with Trump will not happen ‘until we get the respect we deserve as a sovereign nation. By the way, this is not a high bar.’”
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney says U.S. President Donald Trump will ultimately respect Canada’s sovereignty and be ready for comprehensive trade talks because Americans are going to suffer from Trump’s trade war. Carney says talks with Trump will not happen “until we get the respect we deserve as sovereign nation. By the way this is not a high bar.” But Trump earlier kept his nearly daily attacks on Canada on Friday, repeating the country should be the 51st state and saying “when I say they should be a state, I mean that.” Carney met with Canada’s provincial leaders at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa for trade war talks.
