Hundreds of NASA employees and supporters have signed the #VoyagerDeclaration, formally expressing dissent against budget cuts and attacks on key NASA missions.

This action follows similar statements from #NIH and #EPA communities, voicing objection to the unlawful policies of the Trump administration.

Trump proposed cutting the agency's overall funding by 24% and slashing the agency's #science budget by nearly half.

Such moves have sparked protests by #scientists, #engineers and regular folks who care about space science and #exploration. For example, nearly 300 #NASA scientists recently signed the #VoyagerDeclaration, warning that the budget cuts, if enacted, would have devastating effects on #AmericanScience and could impact #AstronautSafety.

"[We] bring to your attention recent policies that have or threaten to waste public resources, compromise human safety, weaken national security, and undermine the core NASA mission. We, the signatories of this letter, dissent from these policies, and raise these concerns because we believe strongly in the importance of NASA's mission,
which we are dedicated to uphold."
