Voted! In and out of my new polling station in two shakes of a lamb's tail.

Thank you to the polling staff as always!

If you haven't voted yet, a reminder that I am suggesting people vote Yes to the family amendment and asking you to vote NO to the Care amendment #VoteYesNo

The reality is that whether the care in the home referendum passes or not, most caring work and reproductive labour will still be done by women in the home and most of it unpaid.

Changing the wording of it in our constitution means fuck all unless our society reflects that change and really embraces what true equality means.

All the men voting #VoteYesYes today REALLY need to up their game or your vote means nothing and is just performative lip service.

Did you see what got leaked last night?I hate that voting YesNo will leave the sexist language in but it's absolutely essential we don't allow the state to shirk it's social responsibility to people with disabilities: https://www.thejournal.ie/referendums-attorney-generals-advice-minister-leaked-6320276-Mar2024/

Great to see PBP, SocDems and Labour reps and councillors going against their party stance and calling for a #VoteYesNo in the #Referendum24 #Ref24

I’m a firm believer in changing your opinion once presented with new facts. I was originally a #VoteNoNo as I felt the new wording for the family was too ambiguous but have since read more from experts and changed my mind.

I think it’s insulting to people’s intelligence to claim those changing their minds have been bullied.

Dr Rosaleen McDonagh says the mainstream women’s movement is unwittingly reinforcing patriarchal norms by supporting the vote on 8 March.

This is real feminism and real solidarity.
