Played Mushroom Oasis' update recently, and it got even BETTER. The art style is still as beautiful as ever, and I cannot WAIT for the full release! Mychael may be a lil toxic, but that's bae right there!

My review of Shooting Star Hill, the official English version of the freeware 2005 Japanese visual novel, Hoshi no Furu Oka. It tells the story of a lonely (alien?) girl and the boy who wants to befriend her. I enjoyed Shooting Star Hill and it is one of the better entries from the review project that I am doing. It takes about one hour to read and remains free to download and run. Linux users should either run the Windows version under WINE or replace the old Linux ONScripter-EN executable that comes with the game with the most recent build (links and instructions in article).
(Note: I should really replace those old screenshots with borderless screenshots... someday.)

If you are not familiar with ACE Academy, my review of that game is a far better place to start than my review of Kaori After Story (moreover, I would recommend not deciding whether to buy Kaori After Story, even on sale, until playing through Kaori's route in ACE Academy).

Back in June, I reviewed ACE Academy, an original English language visual novel by PixelFade Studios. Kaori After Story is a side-story sequel to one of the five main routes of ACE Academy. Because it is set for Christmas and New Years, I decided to hold off on a review until the season was right. My impressions are a bit mixed, but for certain ACE Academy fans, it is worth the sale price (not full price, however).
Because I am posting from Linux Rocks, I note that unlike ACE Academy, there is no native Linux version of Kaori After Story (the former was written in Ren'Py, but I think the latter uses Unity). However, the Steam version is DRM-free (credit for that) and I ran it using WINE with no issues or special configuration.
