It is really hard as a published scientist and a trans woman who can not legally change their name, and a person paranoid and concerned with OPESC.

"Yes I published ground breaking research, that completely change the field of [redacted]. It was foundational on how we explore [redacted]. It was awesome, I hope you can find it and read it some day."

Sometimes I will divulge the journal it was published in. Often I don't say anything.

INT: CLINIC EXAM ROOM

YA GIRL sits on an exam table, in front of a window whose blinds are open. Her purple hair is beginning to fade to a gentle lavender, but against her pale green shirt it looks vibrant. She's sucking her tum in and pushing her chest out so she looks *maybe* a little more femme. She has a small kind of smile, and is wearing no makeup.

Good morning! I am ready for my (two) doctor appts today. Getting started with a whole new medical team after relocation (especially for a #spoonie) is a major undertaking. Luckily one appt (electrophysiologist) is video. We'll discuss possible placement of an ILR.

Loop Recorder Implantation

An implantable loop recorder, or ILR, is a device that helps the heart. It has several uses. The most common ones include looking for causes of fainting, palpitations, very fast or slow heartbeats, and hidden rhythms that can cause strokes. During a loop recorder implantation, your heart health care provider (cardiologist) does a minor procedure. He or she places the machine under your skin, on your chest wall, a few inches below your collarbone. The machine works as an electrocardiogram (ECG), continuously picking up electrical signal from your heart.

Tonight I am attending our neighborhood’s Residents Association meeting, where I will be playing the part of Friendly Neighborhood Transbian. This will either be banal as all hell or terribly awkward and mildly dangerous.

Let’s find out!

🧵

Growing up how I did was not the only reason that it took me so long, but it was an influential one, and one of the more potent ones.
.
What this has led to is my coming to a point of acceptance that I am always going to be #VisiblyTrans, unless I get a lot of surgery done that I don't necessarily want (despite what my dysphoria tells me at times).
.
However, when I spend time on r/trans, I get all sorts of fucked up about it.
