I picked a small posy of #violets from the garden - my workspace smells lovely.
Reminds me of Dad - he took the time to pick garden violets for Mum in the midst of their busy work & family life.
Mum shared that memory with me long after Dad died.
Both my parents are long gone but often thought of with a smile #RIP

Boloria selene in Dutch called the 'zilveren maan vlinder' (silver moon butterfly) and in English the Small pearl-bordered fritillary. Very pretty, with good camouflage. In their larval stage they feed exclusively on violets. Another good reason to protect wild grasslands where different violets grow.
