In War On Drugs(tm) news, there's semi-reliable reports out there about Russia now issuing "pink pills" to its infantry before assaults (and possibly before other activities) as standard practice. The composition does not seem to be known yet; semi-plausible reports suggest they contain an amphetamine-like stimulant, more questionable ones suggest they may also contain an anxiolytic or possibly another CNS depressant. There's some highly dubious details in numerous reports, possibly either due to Fog Of War or maybe contamination of the reports with War On Drugs propaganda.

Issuing stimulants to militaries used to be very common by all major participants of WWII, and numerous examples of overuse are known, but because of propaganda, only the German version, Pervitin, is nowadays widely ... remembered. In modern American Military English, the word for military-use stimulants (which are still routinely used) is 'go-pills'. From what's publicly known, NATO military use includes at least dextroamphetamine and the relatively newly developed modafinil; the old Pervitin (N-methyl-amphetamine) appears to have been largely abandoned, presumedly due to its relatively worse safety profile over dextroamphetamine. NATO military use also includes "no-go pills", sedatives; the publicly known ones mostly compositionally benzodiazepanes. Those could be used as anxiolytics. Combining an amphetamine with a benzodiazepane would be unusual in modern Western medicine, and likely NATO military practice, but may be plausible for Russia in light of historic practice.

North Korea is known to manufacture large amounts of N-methyl-amphetamine, primarily for #VibeDining purposes during the Arduous Famine, and may possibly be a source for Russia, but even under the current sanctions, Russia would probably be able to manufacture anything from Shulgin's phenethylamine textbook in absurdly large amounts.
