When a MAGA Republican wishes you a happy #VeteransDay2022 , sow them this:

To all the Veterans I know, do not know and I was related to. My dad. All my uncles. Cousins. Grammar & High School friends. My future son-in-law. All of them, everywhere. I have trouble saying "Happy" Veteran's Day as many memories are not happy at all. Wishing you a Peaceful and Honor filled Veteran's Day. As a country, now, we are a hot mess. It can be overcome, and we all should do so in your honor. Thank You one and all for your service.

It is #VeteransDay2022, so we are looking back at some pieces in the @[email protected] back catalog about war and remembrance. We start with Caroline Janney's article on how Civil War soldiers competed for how the conflict would be remembered.
