If you want helpful service, DON’T buy from
#Ikea India
I bought home stuff worth 52k from its Turbhe store, on Diwali.
Come delivery time, the driver refused to come into my lane, and was singularly unhelpful regarding other options
Besides the fact that other vehicles that size do come into my lane. I was ok with them being cautious.
I asked them about delivery the next day. No
I told them I would pay, for someone to carry the stuff in. No
The driver was just sitting on the main road and arguing with his manager. I don’t know what was expected out of me, but neither the manager nor the driver helped.
After close to 30m, I could not take it.
I finally had to tell them to unload it by the road itself (Mercifully there was some empty space)
They unceremoniously dumped it and left.
The wife and I were then sitting there, at dusk, with 52000 bucks worth of furniture on the roadside.
I had to call the house contractor, who then charged me 2500 bucks to carry it all to my house. I called
#Ikea India immediately the next day, explained what happened and told them, the only thing I wanted was a good faith gesture of apology.
They charged me 3500 bucks for delivery
Just give that back.
And I’d consider it done.
#Ikea India told me they would look into the matter. and speak to the delivery partner and get back
well,
#Ikea India did get back today.
and like a condescending papa tells me they have told the partner not to repeat the mistake again.
No,
#Ikea India
that is not what I wanted.
I wanted *you* to apologise with skin in the game.
I even was willing to settle for an
#Ikea India voucher which would definitely have not costed you 3500 bucks
More condescension.
They said the best they could do is a 1000 bucks.
We were so enchanted with the store at Turbhe, we were going back there for more stuff for our house.
Guess what’s no longer going to happen
#Ikea India?
I don’t know if your execs are just being cheap, or are not empowered. But this is such a sad, sordid, sorry state of affairs!
I love sitting on my
#Vestmarka mattress here, and a bit sad knowing these will be the last
#Ikea India products I will ever buy.
Everyone wants to beat Amazon. But no one wants to match their focus on the customer.
