After 30+ years as a smoker, I haven't smoked a cigarette in over 6 years, and I feel better - and a bit less poor - for it. #Vaping has been the key to my quitting.
Maybe 10 years ago, I (legally) purchased a big ol' device, with big ol' rechargeable batteries, and a big ol' tank. More recently, I (legally) purchased enough nicotine to kill one horse* per day for the foreseeable future. Every few months, I would (legally) purchase a shipment of nominally "tobacco"-flavoured vape juice, with which to mix my nicotine.
Reminder: I haven't touched tobacco for over 6 years.
Now, the Australian Federal government's ill-conceived, poorly-implemented #VapeBan means that I can no longer purchase my flavoured juice, because all the local producers have shut down, and foreign companies are no longer shipping to Oz. Without the juice, the device and the nicotine are useless - unless I want to OD, which I very much don't.
As far as I can tell, once my juice runs out, my options are to go cold turkey, or take up smoking again. Patches? Fuck no! Gum? That's some bullshit. Hypnotherapy? Sure - if it's on Medicare...
These are not the kind of options a "good" or useful government might present.
Anyway...

*I don't like horses, but I don't want to kill them. It's an old turn of phrase, and I'm old, so I sometimes use them.
