@vantablack testing #vantaradio in the Golf GTI which has Android Auto, parked outside in the yard as I wanted to check how it works and how safe/easy it was to use before I try it when driving..

Sound quality is a lot better in reality than this video but I had to use a different phone to make the video as my main phone was connected to the car.

I can only use #VLC player (there's quite strict restrictions on what apps work with Android Auto, it seems Google do obey the #RoadSafety demands of the worlds traffic regulators, I can't get the track names like on Foobar 2000 but I probably shouldn't have things like that on the dashboard when driving..

Normally the main screen would be replaced by the navi anyway, either Magic Earth or VW's own navi.

Alas, Android Auto can be flaky and randomly reset - seems to be a problem with every car, even newer ones, and I can't even get away with putting a different phone on Android Auto and putting my main one on Bluetooth - I have to use the main phone for work and I get phone calls on it which need to go through the hands free if I'm driving (its illegal not to use hands free calls here)

Listening to vantaradio while I work really helps my day to be much more enjoyable.
