What does American healthcare look like when you have a debilitating illness?

- $275 specialist visit
- $200 in medication every month
- $150 in pain management therapies
- wear and tear on your mental health

And yes, this is WITH INSURANCE. So, don't talk to me about how healthcare is so affordable in the U.S. If you're healthy, you know nothing.

I finished this book today, and I highly recommend it.

Basically what they say in the advertising is true: it's a blueprint of everything wrong with the current health care system in the U.S.

It talks about pharma, hospitals, doctor's fees, lobbying--a real 360 of the situation.

My only complaint is too many of the proposed solutions are individual focused.

An American Sickness
Even better, 45 minutes later finding out that they're out of the prescribed dosage and can't make a change without doctor authorization and it's too late to get it today, pushing this well into tomorrow. My only other choice in this small town is an emergency room, which are currently over burdened and might not be able to give me meds as an outpatient. I DONT WANT TO GO INTO THE HOSPITAL TO GET A PERSCRIPTION FILLED! This country's (USA, USA!) medical system is so f*cked!
