In response to the 'Emilia Pérez' star tweeting that the 2021 Oscars ceremony was an “Afro-Korean festival” and a “Black Lives Matter demonstration," Travon Free writes, "I was a complete unknown who was not only nominated for a short film called 'Two Distant Strangers' that was thematically aligned with Black Lives Matter sentiments, I also won her alleged cousin’s award that night."

1/2 - #TwoDistantStrangers is a 32 min award-winning short film on #Netflix that had me excited at its concept… and in its first half had me interested to see where it went… and then at a key point I was worried it had gone 90s after-school-special… only for it to come back around… and then finally end on a point of what I can only call cinematic cowardice.
