FRENZ. Siamo tristi di annunciare che Trouble In Mind Records ha cessato di esistere come etichetta discografica attiva dal 1° giugno di quest’anno. Potremmo elencare una miriade di ragioni per spiegare questo cambiamento, MA invece preferiamo concentrarci sugli aspetti positivi. A tutti gli artisti con cui abbiamo lavorato: poter contribuire, anche in minima parte, a diffondere la vostra arte nel mondo è stato uno dei più grandi privilegi che potessimo desiderare e vi amiamo tutti. Se avete mai acquistato un album, ascoltato una canzone in streaming, visto uno dei nostri artisti in tour, letto un articolo o un’intervista su di noi, parlato dell’etichetta a un amico o ci avete sostenuto in qualsiasi modo, vi siamo grati e vi ringraziamo sinceramente per il vostro sostegno. Era necessario e doveroso che io dedicassi loro questo post, perché li ho seguiti fin quasi dagli esordi, a volte col fervore del fanatico, quando pubblicavano i singolini di Fresh & Onlys, Ty Segall e Limiñanas, e perché hanno pubblicato una serie di dischi coi quali sono cresciuto in questi ultimi quindici anni – e di alcuni di questi ho anche scritto qua e là. Mi viene da elencarli quei dischi, un po’ per riportarli alla memoria e un po’ per consigliarli: se volete prestar loro un orecchio o due non fate male, e se ne volete acquistare una copia usufruendo di quei saldi su Bandcamp non vi morde nessuno. Ended the weekend and started the week after my swim with Shores by levinson / mahlmeister released on cassette by Trouble in Mind as part of their Explorers Series.

Comprised of synthesists Jamie Levinson & Donny Mahlmeister, the Chicago duo uses modular synthesizers in combination with tactile instruments to create cinematic snapshots of sonance. While the duo absolutely gives glances toward artists like Eno, Lanois, Reich, Riley & the kosmische places and spaces of Deuter, they are absolutely of the NOW, in step with ambient explorers like Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Panabrite, or locals Bitchin' Bajas, TALsounds or Brett Naucke. Side one's "Ascend" eases into your ears, starting at a place of calming that slides & swoops over the course of its near 25-minutes, arcing into an apex of rhythmic motion.. - Bandcamp

#Dummy - Mandatory Enjoyment cd on #TroubleInMind 2021

I don't like the cover art and I think it's a silly bandname but it's on the Trouble In Mind label. So, why not give it a try. Well lucky I did because this is a real nice and cool psych pop album. I get a #SilverApples / #YoLaTengo vibe and that's always a good thing. Loving it more by the minute.
