klu9I use & voted for #Xfce but some other options could be those DEs purposely designed to "preserve" an older version of a #DesktopEnvironment or GUI toolkit. I suspect they would be extremely unlikely to introduce paradigm-shifting changes

AptiviTrinity DE R14.1.4 released!
A new version of Trinity Desktop Environment has been released as of yesterday with the version of R14.1.4. This version is a minor bug fix release that has the following changes, including, but not limited to:
- support for Unicode surrogate characters and planes above zero (for example emojis)
- new modern vector wallpapers and new color themes
- new control module to manage deb/rpm alternatives
- tab support in kpdf
- better context menu for tderandrtray and fixes to the handling of gamma settings
- clickable links in calendar events
- support for transparency, top and shadow borders and inactive windows in Dekorator
- better integration of kxkb with setxkbmap, new options and various fixes for the tray feedback
- ability to create VPN connections in tdenetworkmanager once again
- several improvements to the codeine player
- support for Ubuntu Plucky and upcoming Fedora 43

Welp, that was a thing. It took 45 minutes to get #LXLE live running, then another 30 to do a full install just to crash and not work.
My expectations were low, but this fell even lower than that.
I then attempted to install LXLE on the bare metal. After boot I just kept getting a black screen.
I booted up #Q4OS with #TrinityDE. It’s fine; it’s just not as exciting as getting Trinity running on my #mangopi #sbc
I may do some more tweaking in the future, but I am pretty happy with how things turned out on #TrinityDE.
So far it has been a pretty usable lil system. Web browsing is on par with old dial-up. Besides that, after an app opens they seem to be quite responsive/snappy.
Now I am glad I #borked my MangoPi Quad #SBC as I do not think I would have looked into the Trinity DE.
I installed the #TrinityDE and I have to say it gives #LXDE so tight competition. At idle my ram use is lower than LXDE and when using native apps the ram use stays fairly low.
As for look, Trinity just looks better has more customization options, AND has #Snap integration.
I will post a screenshot once I am done tweaking things to my liking.
