Playing Trench Crusade today. I kickstarted the STL files awhile ago and a friend finally printed them for me (much appreciated). It’s a crazy cool miniatures style.
In general it’s hard to hate what this team is doing. It’s a pretty radical departure from the Games Workshop formula. Fewer models, simple flexible rules and a focus on 3D printing means you really don’t need much time to get going.
The trading of actions back and forth is amazing for this kind of game and the level of strategic thinking. The campaign element with points effecting your warband over the course of multiple games isn’t new but it’s really well done here.
The 3D printing first approach is interesting. Part of the GW playbook is stuff is often hard to get. This removes the artificial scarcity but adds the possibility of “super meta” gameplay. Like if someone finds a great combo, everyone can play that combo next week for no extra money.
Anyway strongly recommend especially if you like Kill Team. #Warhammer40k #trenchcrusade
