Trees for Houston plants over 100 trees

Trees for Houston has planted 800,000 trees in the city of Houston over the past 40 years.

A local nonprofit will be giving away a variety of more than 3,000 fruit trees free of charge on Saturday. Cherry, peach, fig, pear and blueberry trees will be up for grabs while supplies last.

Peach, blueberry and pear trees up for grabs at Houston tree drive Saturday

For road safety and depending on the amount of cars already in line, the event may start earlier, according to Trees for Houston. Each tree is three gallons, and attendees are limited to three trees per household, and two households per car.
