Ich finde diesen Kastanienbaum äußerst ästhetisch.

Trees are great, especially with a little breeze (as a treat).

A tree, shaking in the breeze, leaves rustling, some falling down... a moving, living thing. So different from static buildings.

The greens and yellows and oranges and reds are so beautiful, each in their own way.

I saw a yellow birch in the sunset the other day, and it was *glowing*!

I'm very pro leaf - needles don't do it for me. They're less inviting.

#TreePosting 🌳

the first trees i ever learned about were the ones in my family's backyard as a child. my favorite was the silverleaf maple #TreePosting

the leafs are green on top but silvery on bottom, creating a beautiful ripple effect when flipped by the wind. the tree also flips its leafs intentionally before it rains (i can't remember why, but it's a striking visual).

it was a favorite buffet for local woodpeckers. i could often hear them tapping away through my bedroom window, and i remember running my fingers along the rows of their bore holes.

a fun fact i just read about silverleafs: "Like most maples, silver maple can be variably dioecious (separate male or female trees) or monoecious (male and female flowers on the same tree) but dioecious trees are far more common. They can also change sex from year to year."

i don't have any good pictures of the old yard, but here's picture of a larger specimen
