4 years since coming out... so here is a snap shot o of how far I've come.

Looking back it is hard to believe how much progress I've made and the changes along the way. It has been a roller-coaster with more than a few ups and downs however I have reached a point where I generally feel comfortable in my own skin.

me: .... The closer the local pride event gets, the more I realize I'm not a man

then-partner: so..a woman?

That's how I came out and finally accepted this reality about myself. Three days later, on the local pride event, I went out fem presenting - with a lot of help from my then-partner:

I had told myself that this is a safe way to experiment, because I could always say I was just an ally crossdressing.. luckily never had to pull that card.

A lot has changed since then, besides my initial fears that things would just take forever, everything just worked out somehow. I'm happy with who I am. Still, it wasn't easy - but absolutely worth it.

5 years ago today I placed a needle against my thigh, whispered a small prayer, and pushed down the plunger. It’s been a wild ride since, but I’ve never regretted that decision for a moment.

To anyone facing their own leap of faith: make the jump. You’re worth it, and it’s never too late.

probably the only remaining beard pic i didn't know i still had from The Previous Years, during the final attempt to convince myself i was a manly man, somewhere around March 2020

versus

a few weeks ago on August 2025, just a normal photo of my bored face

so about 5.5 years apart

i will probably do this comparison again in a year or so, because changes have accelerated: increased E bombardment + religious running is forcing my body to adapt fast

I have to say that for 12 months of not very dedicated work, I'm a bit underwhelmed, but at least I've not gone backward.

Different mics, so it's not entirely a fair comparison, but I was at least equally self-conscious on both occasions.

It's been almost 3 years and wow, things have gone well. I kind of expected that but it was also somewhat of a fantasy of expectations rather than real expectations.

Would people who knew me in the past even recognise me?

I hardly recognise myself in my old photos now. I also prefer the even older photos of myself where I had shorter hair and less grey in the beard, but this one is from the holiday that I realised I was trans.
