Trump being NTB (Not Too Bright), he simply does not understand international trade. His Tariffgate Scandal has done terrific harm to the US economy (price increases, retirement funds getting drained, consumer and investor uncertainty, and so forth). In the November elections, one of the options was to elect a non-simpleton. It was an opportunity missed.
