Week 1: Finished W.I.P

We had quite a snowy and cold first week of the new year. This weather kind of makes me tired. But still it was a busy week. Sadly i again have problems with my computer, which appeared since we had to „upgrade“ to Windows 11. It is a bit annoying.

I managed to finish one of my W.I.Ps this week. I have to admit i started with the one which was nearly finished, but finished is finished! And i´m nearly finished with the second one. I have to fight with my brain, to not cast on a new project, because i finished an old one…

Pebble Tank by Purl Soho

I only had to finish the armholes and the neckline. I was wrong in my last post, i didn´t have to make an I-Cord binding, it was just picking up stitches and then alternate between knit and purl rows. I just don´t like to pick up stitches. I always have the feeling i don´t do it right because it looks weird. But maybe i have to look it up and learn to do it properly.

This was also a stash busting project. I used Cotton Happy by Filo Blu ( yarn i got from my local shop) in Mint. The yarn is a worsted weight yarn and it is 100% Cotton. 50g have 107 Meters. I was sure that i hadn´t enough of it, so i paired it with Recycled Cotton from Hobbii in Dark Blue. Also worste weight yarn but thicker than the Cotton Happy. 50g have 75 Meters. But it worked out.

I think i use a 4mm or 4,5 mm circular needle for the body ( i didn´t write it down) and a 4 mm circular needle for the neckline and armholes. The stripes are 2 rows/ 4 rows/6 rows/4 rows/2 rows with 2 rows of mint inbetween.

I nearly used all of my Cotton Happy, which were 3 balls ( the leftovers are going into my Stash busting blanket) and nearly 2 balls from the Recycled Cotton.

After steaming it the fabric got really even and nice, lovely to look at. I can´t recall if i made any changes, because i didn´t write it down. But it is a nice and easy project.

The next one i´m working on is the Saint Malo by Rachel Søgaard. I finished the body yesterday evening and today i will, hopefully, finish one of the short sleeves (i´m making short sleeves, the original pattern has long ones). I choose the wrong yarn for this top, so it got a bit too oversized, but i think it will be fine. I will insert some elastic into the neckline ribbing, so it will be a bit smaller and sturdier.

But more of that next week, when i have finished it.

I only was able to sew some pillow cases this week, for more i really hadn´t time. As well as for the e-book, just was too busy with other things. But maybe the coming week will be better?
