A ★★★★ review of Tokyo Trial (2016)

Fascinating character study that covers the International Tribunal for Far East Crimes. With its focus on the interactions between each of the Judges - although there is actual trial footage included - the movie plays out more like 12 Angry Men than it does Judgment at Nuremberg.   The all international cast is uniformly excellent but special kudos to Paul Freeman as the English judge and Marcel Hensema as the judge from the Netherlands needs to be given as they clearly represent both camps.  But I’d be amiss if I did not also single out the great Irrfan Kahn as
