The bastards at Tile have taken to putting a damned advert at the top of their Android app open page.
Thereby making it impossible for the elderly person to use the app.
Greed, ignorance, don't-give-a-fuck, whatever.
A shit company, a shit product, a shit UX.
#TileApp is showing me the location of other peoples' Tiles with the same name that are over 100 miles away.
Seems possible that my Tiles are being shown to others unknown to me.
Yuk.

Helpers keep getting timed out on website as they try to get a stop put on the credit card.
Phone call to #ANZ #Bank fails as the call centre worker's accent and low volume of speech makes communication with ElderlyRelative ineffective.

We're currently using #TileApp devices to find hidden necessaries.
Just helped an #ElderlyRelative who has significant short-term #MemoryLoss to use the #TileApp to help her find a handbag with house key and bankcard permanently attached.
Did this over the phone from 15km distance.

I'm happy, they're happy.
I'm highly critical of much of IT app design, the effects of large amounts of screen time on individuals, relationships and communities.
But this app and hardware worked.

For example, when you walk into #Walmart, there's nothing stopping them from logging the presence of your #TileApp Tile tracker device. These things are blasting a unique UUID all the time. If you always have this thing with you, its easy for anyone (there are even apps in the Play store) to see that you are (or were) present.
Its not just TILE that can detect and log your #Tile iot device. Anyone who wants to, can.
