✨ A beautiful update from Kenya ✨
We recently checked in on *Beth, and it was wonderful to see her thriving at home with a family who love her deeply. πŸ’›
She is helping with dishes, caring for her clothes, and even supporting her younger brother when needed. The skills she learned at Rafiki Mwema are making a real difference in her confidence and daily life. 🌱🀎
This is what healing and hope can look like.

Maybe we could have wings in this scenario and soar around like eagles all day. But then, where are the wings when I want to lie on the couch? Do I sleep on my stomach now? these wings are great for flying but not for sitting in chairs. Anyways I think this is cool, I like the quirky mix of plants and maybe decorative art, like wallpaper patterns...

Wildflowers Near the Water, Ivan Shishkin, 1890

There are a lot of paintings of vases of flowers, and I understand people enjoying them and putting them on their wall. And, I enjoy this because they aren't in a vase and they're outside. It's still a painting about flowers, it's not a landscape, but they're in their natural state and I like that. The way they're painted seems really alive and natural, sort of a chaos of leaves of different types, with a layer of decomposing stuff under the leaves at the bottom ❀️

β€œGlobalised economic development has cut like a knife through our human relationships and through our connections to the living world. Rural communities and smaller towns have been destroyed, as people have been forced to seek employment in urban centres. This in turn has led to mass immigration. It has also led to increased time pressures, with people running faster and faster in an ever more competitive economy."https://www.byronmagazine.com/news/helena-norberg-hodge?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwNyqDNjbGNrA3KnWmV4dG4DYWVtAjExAAEetCP_JUdBgLFY8x_fhSKTWn_x4zWXeZfFfDUOQ10s9aX7EG0cSuBn73WEZ4s_aem_5P6AqDu0510PgwaQTFJMEw
