So as far as I see it, the purpose of "AI" is firstly to make humans redundant. The second reason seems to be to make facsimiles of us that are sufficiently realistic as to be able to fool our friends and relations on Facebook that we are still alive and posting.
Maybe I'm unreasonably taking things to their logical conclusions, but if you kill all of us, how are you going to explain all those cultural references that we're going to be spewing ad infinitum? Surely someone's going pick up the dead domains explaining such references and point them towards either satirical or downright hostile sites.
