Tonight I just finished reading "The Last Days of New Paris," by #ChinaMieville. Very surprising; I never thought I'd even START reading another book by Mieville, let alone finish it.

I've struggled with the work of this author, quite a bit. I started #PerdidoStreetStation several times, never finished it once. I did finish #TheScar and #Kraken, and was disappointed both times, though now I don't remember why.

I finally finished reading The Scar by China Miéville (2002) and I'm pleased to discover it's the second book in a trilogy. So from my POV I have both a prequel and a sequel to read, if I can track down copies.

@ElektroHarpy reminds me of china miéville’s book “the scar” about a floating city made of pirated and cannibalized boats — this city Armada is so sprawling, it even has neighborhoods, each run by its own strange characters… but how to propel such a place…?

@stancarey agreed, I love those covers! I'm about to finish #TheScar for the second time, i couldn't remember most of it, i think i speed read it the first time through!
