I usually don't chose drama with a rating under 9.0 on Viki, but Decline has a ghost swallowing an entire opera troup and I'm willing to risk The Pain Of Bad for that.
(Yep, I paused The Lady In Butcher's House - the story added boundary stomping. Mild stomping, but I'm still mentally allergic to it. Big bummer! The rest is good, so I'm chaulking this up to me not being cut out for romance.)
Well... hm... I may be wrong, but my impression of the Yellow River is that it's more like a farmland on the run than a body of water. Washing oneself clean there may not be the best idea.

Another thing to like about this drama; the actors are actually riding the horses they're supposed to ride. Maybe not all the time - some shots are open for stand ins - but often enough. Yes, I'm side eyeing every drama On The Globe who puts its actors on a bench and have them mimic riding movements. It always looks ridiculous!

I _have_ to get some thick and reliable litterature on Chinese fashion history! Preferably the paper kind that gives you strong arms and kills you if you read it in bed and fall asleep. Xu Qing Jia's sleeve _may_ be lined with white fabric - or it might be the sleeve of his underskirt. Regardless his entire costume feels high quality, and I get a sure vibe of historical reproduction from it.
