Day 7: Favorite character of 2025
Huang Yao Shi in #cDrama Duel On Mount Hua: Eastern Heretic and Western Venom (2025) and Duel on Mount Hua: The Five (2025), played masterfully by Zhou Yi Wei. Iconic character retold, classic wuxia style. Both cDrama, a rare 10/10 for me.
Huang Yao Shi (Eastern Heretic) is a main character in the very popular wuxia novel The Legend Of The Condor Heroes written by Jin Yong of Hong Kong in 1957, with many drama remakes.
You know what, my reflex is that the giant fight avatars should stand in the same vat of light they emerge from. _But_ having them stand on the ground like normal persons (albeit with flames licking their bodies) is an excellent choice. This is a lull in the battle, and you both get a feel for that and the avatars' humungous size.
