Il Tempo: Al via la settimana verde dell'Ami: omaggio a Vessicchio

“Sorridi al Pianeta, Sorridi al Futuro. La Natura ci sorride, impariamo a rispondere”. È questo il messaggio che apre la Settimana Verde di Ambiente Mare Italia (AMI) 2026, evento diffuso a livello nazionale dedicato al green e alla sostenibilità che dal 10 al 22 aprile coinvolgerà 15 regioni con 130 iniziative. La Settimana Verde Ami, giunta alla quarta edizione, si conferma come una delle principali esperienze di partecipazione civica e cultura ecologica, capace di unire territori, istituzioni, scuole e cittadini in un percorso condiviso di responsabilità. Non una semplice rassegna, ma una vera festa nazionale dell'ambiente, sostenuta da importanti patrocini istituzionali, tra cui il MASE, la Commissione europea, il Parlamento europeo, la Marina Militare e la Guardia Costiera. Un progetto che cresce nei numeri e nell'impatto. Dal 2023 a oggi la Settimana Verde AMI ha realizzato oltre 400 eventi in tutta Italia, coinvolto più di 200 comuni e attivato ogni anno migliaia di cittadini. Oltre 80.000 i partecipanti direttamente impegnati nelle attività, mentre più di 4 milioni di persone vengono raggiunte annualmente attraverso iniziative di informazione e sensibilizzazione. Numeri che si traducono in azioni concrete: interventi di pulizia e monitoraggio degli ecosistemi (mari, laghi, spiagge e boschi), attività educative per studenti e scuole, percorsi di inclusione sociale e iniziative di valorizzazione del territorio. Un lavoro reso possibile grazie alla rete delle delegazioni territoriali e dei volontari di AMI, insieme al contributo di associazioni e istituzioni locali e al supporto di realtà nazionali come la Lega Navale Italiana, l'Associazione Nazionale Marinai d'Italia, la Federazione Italiana Vela e la FIDAPA BPW Italy. L'edizione 2026 porta con sé anche un momento di riflessione e riconoscenza: sarà dedicata al compianto Maestro Beppe Vessicchio, storico testimonial dell'iniziativa, la cui partecipazione negli anni ha rappresentato un elemento di grande valore umano e culturale, contribuendo a rafforzare il messaggio di armonia tra uomo e natura.

Smile to the Planet, Smile to the Future. Nature smiles at us, let’s learn to respond. This is the message that opens the Green Week of Environment Sea Italy (AMI) 2026, a nationwide event dedicated to green and sustainability that, from April 10th to 22nd, will involve 15 regions with 130 initiatives. The Green Week Ami, now in its fourth edition, confirms itself as one of the main experiences of civic participation and ecological culture, capable of uniting territories, institutions, schools and citizens in a shared path of responsibility. Not just a simple showcase, but a true national festival of the environment, supported by important institutional sponsorships, including MASE, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Italian Navy, and the Coast Guard. A project that grows in numbers and impact. From 2023 to today, the Green Week AMI has organized over 400 events throughout Italy, involving more than 200 municipalities and activating thousands of citizens every year. Over 80,000 participants are directly involved in the activities, while more than 4 million people are reached annually through information and awareness-raising initiatives. Numbers that translate into concrete actions: cleaning and monitoring of ecosystems (seas, lakes, beaches and forests), educational activities for students and schools, social inclusion pathways, and initiatives to enhance the territory. This work is made possible thanks to the network of territorial delegations and AMI volunteers, together with the contribution of local associations and institutions and the support of national realities such as the Italian Navy, the National Association of Italian Sailors, the Italian Sailing Federation, and the FIDAPA BPW Italy. The 2026 edition also brings a moment of reflection and gratitude: it will be dedicated to the late Maestro Beppe Vessicchio, a historic testimonial of the initiative, whose participation over the years represented a great element of human and cultural value, contributing to strengthening the message of harmony between man and nature.
