Texas’ version of DOGE could increase governor’s power, Rice University professor says
Much like the federal government's Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE), helmed by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, the mission of the Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office will be to eliminate what some state leaders have characterized as corruption, fraud and waste in government. It also will examine regulations in an attempt to the make the state more business-friendly.
