C’était le 45e anniversaire de la Course Terry Fox
Rappel: le cancer peut aller voir ailleurs!

Cities across Canada, including Montreal, took part Sunday in the 45th annual Terry Fox Run, commemorating one of the country’s most enduring legacies in cancer research. Refusing to let anyone down, he took a break hoping the pain might subside. Terry ran another mile until he couldn't see any more people, returned to the van, and asked Doug to take him to a hospital. Terry called his parents in Port Coquitlam and told them the cancer had returned. The following day he flew home to begin further treatments. Terry had run his last mile of the Marathon of Hope. Terry started a marathon against cancer. Together, we can finish it. Join us for the 45th annual #TerryFoxRun on September 14 in support of cancer research. I fell down the YT rabbit hole and ended up at the story of Terry Fox. For those who don't know, Terry had a leg amputated in 1980, and then set about a run across Canada (not the short way either), to raise money for cancer research. Unfortunately, he didn't make it, and died after reaching Thunder Bay. However, his dream lives on in multiple Terry Fox runs around the world generating millions to combat cancer. It's a story that still chokes me up now. Here's the link for his story, also check out Steve Fonyo, and Rick Hansen, more Canadian heroes doing insane things for great causes.
