Introducing KU Leuven’s PhD students and postdocs to #techtransfer: check! ✅ Yesterday, 15 teams of entrepreneurial researchers pitched their exploitation plans during the finals of our yearly #DoctoralSchoolTraining, in front of a jury of industry experts and investors. Three teams have won an award, each in their own category: 🥇Team CreaTrack (a continuous creatinine biosensor to enable kidney monitoring) 🥇Team Ultratopia (spine surgery with radiation-free, ultrasound-guided robotic precision) 🥇 Team Seclerity (hardware acceleration for security) What this is all about? 🤔 Over the past six months, about 200 doctoral and post-doctoral researchers of our university – of all disciplines – were introduced in the various routes of knowledge and technology transfer. During this intensive training course, a selection of young scientists grouped in 15 teams to develop research exploitation plans based on real research results. They received guidance from KU Leuven Research & Development for this, as well as from innovation managers of our Industrial Research Fund (IOF).
