Like many thousands of residents and visitors in Te Whanganui-A-Tara today we visited the re-opening of our beloved library. It is was always an impressive and welcoming space but even more so now with many more multi-purpose spaces available. There is impressive artwork as well and a feeling of light and something for everyone. Perhaps not quite as many books as before but the emphasis is on a multi-use, community-orientated space built around a library. Full marks to all involved. Definitely worth a visit.

If you are in #TeWhanganui-a-Tara #Wellington and are looking to do something on this fine, windless and sunny day, why not head to the Wind Turbine and walk to it from Ashton Fitchett Drive?

Take the recommended route for pedestrians, which then takes you completely into the bush on the side of the hill. It's a bit longer than on the road, but much nicer. There's even a bench on one of the spots where you surface from the bush tunnel a third of the way.
