on the long train ride, I realized that DERP was doing a live stream, and I might as well as enjoy it while hanging out in my seat.
I bought this (https://pocket-tripod.com/collections/pro/products/universal-kit) folding phone tripod a while ago, and it's small enough to live in my standard travel kit. Today, I used it in anger for the first time! Not bad, certainly good enough for the seat tray.
Are there better phone tripods out there? yes, absolutely. Is this one _good enough_, while having a terrific storage footprint? yes, absolutely.

I just watched a vod from #TangoTek of the #Hermitcraft variety, and I think he unlocked something about building in #Minecraft in my brain.
In episode 1, he made this gorgeous "steam punk" house that was mostly empty inside. During stream though, he started filling in bits and bobs, laying out floors, stairs, etc.
He'd throw down a couple blocks, wire it in enough to see if it works or not, then change if it didn't. He's going to replace the wood with whatever the real materials are, and he's just able to fiddle and experiment.
With happy accidents, and suggestions from chat, he ended up with a really delightful layout. And that is a workflow that seems to tickle my brain.
