The worst way to respond when any overly exhausted POC person - who have put in many years of unpaid emotional labours with decolonization work & trying to help people to decolonize their own mind - says, no to requests from strangers asking for more emotional labour - is to be a passive aggressive jerk. I can definitely tell the difference a comrade willing to do their personal decolonial work & a white saviour wannabe lazy ass who doesn't take any personal initiative.

When I reject helping out a complete stranger who ignores my exhaustion levels, DMs to ask me for more than I owe anyone & they respond in DM with: You misunderstood me. I'll go help & support others.

I didn't misunderstand. He asked me to do his decolonization homework for him. He hides behind DMs. Don't DM me on issues I've been public about.

That validates that you're ignorant & choose to stay ignorant. People who behave like this aren't interested in actual decolonization work. They're still riding the fragile white guy BS trains.

I don't like strangers DMing me for these reasons & more. The worst shit happens in DMs, from cowards.
