The conclusion:
It's #BloodBowl and like the other edition rollout showed, we'll keep on playing it. We'll learn to live this like we did the previous edition and we'll have fun
But I won't be buying GW stuff this time around.
HMU as soon as you get your mitts on a good PDF of the new rules - I DON'T need the models, the rulers and templates, the markers to feel good. I've got* enough and I'll approach this as pragmatically as I can from now on.

Had a #BloodBowl7s tournament in #Amsterdam and we brought treats (picture). I took my unused dwarves (pictured here bullying Amazons), which I never had any intention of playing.
This is because playing against them is a boring grind and reportedly playing with them too, and I am happy to report that I shan't be grabbing them any time soon again and I am not a horrible person. Not that horrible.
The record shows 1/1/2 and boredom.

Some personal successes:
-the goodie bag and anniversary swag and anniversary Thrud models gave us a 150 line, 18 column Excel sheet and who picks up what for whom? Organised that to be arranged in 60m.
- instant coffee all weekend? No!🤮 Siouxsies Badger coffee van (Swindon area) provided. Can't recommend enough.
Fun was had. Would and WILL organise again with some minor adjustments!

Apart from some things like people being unable to leave the premises at night and again a deplorable state of the Shared hygiene facilities, this was a succesful event. We raked up a total of £17.000, to be split between Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and MIND.
The feedback form able to tell us it's us that made the event so good. I beg to differ:the attendants make it a success!

What Thrudball is also good at, is extorting money from people to donate to #charity. We've got the Orction, an auction run by the lovely Landrover (Dan), in which we sell off to the highest bidder all manner of rare or unique or just desirable #BloodBowl teams, pitches, dice, models, memorabilia and other collectibles donated by the community. There's also mini games, cake sales etc

Anyway, the games played went off uneventfully. And that's great, because uneventful means fair. Lots of people were having a lot of fun, and Thrudball is GOOD at fun. Only one coach didn't enjoy their Saturday games and got really salty so we checked with their last opponent if they were okay, which was massively appreciated. All to keep everyone safe and happy.

Unfortunately for all the late rosters, the deadline missed was the first tie breaker and ofc people get a bit pissy and I get that, because fair, it affects your standing. It's interesting however, how many people can't find the emails with deadlines we've sent anymore 😆 but next year we'll do a ticker on the site and lay out all the deadlines before sign-ups.

Somewhere in April we asked of people to hand in their rosters via Google Shits or however you want to call it before July 6th. Ofc we only got 20 well in advance, and the majority in the few days before😆
I felt like a teacher: there tons of people who, just before the deadline, found out they didn't know how to work Google Shits, or who thought ON the 6th instead of before. RUSH HOUR!

With all the people present having different preferences, different allergies or diets, ordering different sets of goodies, tickets, and generally all being eager to play 6 games of regular #BloodBowl, plus half of them 3 more of #BloodBowl7s or #Gorkamorka , #MtG or what have you on the Friday night, that's a lot.
Roster building and deadline turned out to be an obstacle to ~⅓ of coaches.

These nerds and their hangers-on also need feeding (and the breakfast/lunch in 2024 were dogshit, as @StuWatts can attest). They want tournament dice. They want nice memorabilia, shiny models, and ways to give money to charity (we'll get to the charity orction). There's onsite camping, they need showers, restrooms to rest their sphincters, parking, seating, Fk me sideways.
