Happy #TCRPday!
The Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) in the US is a superb, ever-growing, practical resource for public transport planning. TCRP reports draw together the state of the art, and offer practical frameworks and solutions for tackling issues in all aspects of transit.

Delighted to join my US colleagues and friends to celebrate #TCRPday today.
New report this week from the US Transit Cooperative Research Program #TCRP on transit agencies' recovery plans for getting back into service and then back to normal after disruptive (and sometimes damaging) severe weather.
Here in the UK, with climate change leading to more extreme weather, we ought to be taking this issue increasingly seriously.
This is one of the TCRP's 'synthesis' reports that looks across current US practice. I'm particularly looking forward to reading the case studies from a number of agencies on what their plans involve and what their experience has been from events they have dealt with.
As always with their reports, it's free to download:

My daughter, Kate Gibson Kumar, is an attorney with the Texas Civil Rights Project and is one of the lawyers representing a family, including a 6 year old child with cancer, who were illegally arrested during their immigration hearing on May 29th and have been detained by #ICE since then. The child missed his medical appointment for another round of treatment due to being in the #DHS detention facility. A habeus petition has been filed.

Of interest to traffic modellers: a round-up of current US state-level practice in traffic simulation modelling.
I remember using SimTraffic when I was working in the US. Nice to see it still going, alongside Vissim, as one of the most commonly used packages.

This is from the National Cooperative Highway Research Program #NCHRP - similar to the transit research programme #TCRP I've mentioned previously. Excellent and well-researched resources.
Delighted to join my US colleagues and friends to celebrate #TCRPday today!
