Yay! My professor told me I don’t have to grade the final papers and presentations. I was going to do them this weekend and it would have probably taken me hours. A weight has been lifted. I am done-ish TAing (for now). 🎊 It was overall a good experience. I committed to doing some things over the summer for him, so I will try to do them. 😊 #TALife
Submitted a 3-page (double-spaced) reflection paper detailing my experience as a TA this spring. I was told only 1 page is necessary, but I had a lot to say. I’ll miss the students. #TALife #PhDLife
Finished grading the 8 student papers and 8 presentations last night at almost midnight. Next, helping with virtual graduation, grading presentations and 2 walkthroughs of virtual world lessons and their final papers, and writing a 1-page reflection paper of my TA experience. Then my TA-ship is somewhat done. 😮‍💨 #TALife #PhDLife
Finished reviewing 7 conference proposals. The rest of the weekend will entail grading 8 student papers for my prof., and hanging with my sis and niece for dinner and a walk around the mall. Hoping to get a couple of workouts in as well if all goes according to plan. 😃 #phdLife #TALife #familyTime
Then, I came home and had to meet with a student about their assignment in #Minecraft and they broke their teleporter. I then proceeded to break everything while trying to fix it, causing a repeating teleporting loop that made the entire class’ Minecraft server inaccessible. 🤣 It was the opposite feeling of all earlier events of the day. I lack access to the server so the other TA had to fix it. Oddly, i enjoyed all the tech hurdles (once solved). It was a good day. 😎

So, I’m nervous but am also looking forward to what he will say about the feedback I provided. Hopefully, if I am steering them wrong he’ll oppose my comments and let them know. #PhDLife #TALife Good practice at assessment and a challenging learning experience for me! 😅 I always try to be constructive and encouraging with my #CriticalFeedback.

It took many hours over the course of a couple of days for me to provide specific feedback for the instructional unit proposal drafts (2 of them) that students will utilize in their final project. I probably overthought everything. 🤣 But I wanted to give feedback that would be helpful and that was balanced. The professor has yet to provide his feedback to the teams. #PhDLife #TALife
