Forensic review of suspended sex assault reports finds links to other cases, Houston police chief says

Of the 4,017 adult sex crime incident reports that had been suspended, the forensic science center reported 1,147 had associated sexual assault kits that were tested for DNA. 76 of those kits found DNA links to other cases, Finner said.

HPD Chief Finner said that findings from the department’s internal investigation of suspended cases should be ready by the end of April. However, the current investigation is just the beginning.
