One of a series of graphics my parish has shared, featuring the #CollectOfTheDay from the #BookOfCommonPrayer. This one is for the Sunday Next Before Advent. We've been working on others with more contemporary and more inclusive language, but we started with the classic language ones.

Because today's Collect begins with the words 'Stir up', and the season of #Advent is about to begin, traditionally people used to start getting their Christmas puddings and fruitcakes ready by stirring up the ingredients today, giving it the name 'Stir Up Sunday'.
