Almighty God,
as your kingdom dawns,
turn us from the darkness of sin
to the light of holiness,

Because today's Collect begins with the words 'Stir up', and the season of #Advent is about to begin, traditionally people used to start getting their Christmas puddings and fruitcakes ready by stirring up the ingredients today, giving it the name 'Stir Up Sunday'.
