On #ThisDayInHistory in 1920 the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye was founded in Ankara. It denounced the #OttomanEmpire & #SultanMehmedVI, and began drafting a republican constitution. Notably it was a #nationalistic project and created a highly racist vision of Turkishness.
