Ironically, a similar move by #Discovery after acquiring and killing off the #HBOMax brand to call itself simply #Max has seen Warner Bros buyer David Zaslav's money losing meddlers relaunch and rebrand their #StreamingApp with the trusted old name again. The HBO Max tile returned this summer to devices a few years after ill advisedly offing the time tested #HomeBoxOffice media brand-name, which apparently only led to creating consumer confusion and blowback. Chairman #Zaslav apparently felt the legacy premium subscription service HBO name was a "hindrance" according to #Bloomberg but he has finally relented and backtracked from believing his own B.S after angry shareholders seethed, and one Redditor recently compared the costly corporate gaffe "as if Coke Zero had decided to rebrand as Zero..."
