The #US government has successfully campaigned to flip a $600m contract for a #Singapore-to-#France cable from #Chinese firm #HMN #Tech to US-based #SubCom through incentives and #pressure on #consortium members. The US #government has also cancelled four #cables whose backers had wanted to link the US with #HongKong. The US and #China are at the lowest point in their relations in decades, with #tensions rising over a host of issues.
